The original Darke Parlour funeral chapel.  Abandoned since 1959, but now...?

Darke Parlour is not your run-of-the-mill haunt. This is a unique interactive ghost hunt and seance experience.  It takes place in a real cemetary, in  a structure used in all burials during the time this was the chapel of Darke Parlour funeral home.   Aaron Darke arrived in the Indiana/Ohio region in 1880 and was the object of curiosity and fear. After the sudden death of his business partner, he married the widow and adopted the eight year old daughter of his former associate. Mysteries have long surrounded this site due to the odd deaths and disappearances centered on this place.
It's up to YOU to find out what happened. Do you believe? If not, why not? Bring your loved ones and your fears and put them to the test. Every experience is different because only YOU can forge a connection to the past.

In 2007, we are associated with the Wayne County Historical Museum and this year they present Darke Parlour and  Tales from the Departed, a walk/ride/drive through cemetary attraction. We are also sponsored by Mr. Roberts Carpet Cleaning in Richmond, Indiana.

We would like to thank everyone for their help and participation in this year's Darke Parlour.  Our seance was very successful and produced many strange and unusual sounds and sights.  We could not have done it alone.  Thanks go to the Wayne County Historical Museum and all of their volunteers.  We would especially like to thank the Gray family (Brian, Becky and Lindsey) for their contributions.

Now to start thinking about next year...

This is four views of the same digital photo taken of the Darke Parlour at about noon on August 28, 2007.  After several enlargements I thought I detected something in the left-hand window on the left side of the chapel.  This is one of two windows which open onto the stairway leading to the organ loft.  After an additional enlargment I clearly saw something in the window.  Additional enlargments were so pixilated that no further details can be seen.  Subsequent visits to photograph the site under similar conditions resulted in no images in the window.
